The musician, Mzbel has disclosed that, the former president, John Dramani Mahama has had a conversation with her as regards the altercation with actress and film producer Tracey Boakye.

The 40-year-old singer mentioned in an interview that, Mr. Mahama advised her but was tight-lipped when asked about details of her interaction with the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“He has advised me. I’ve heeded to his counsel and that’s why I’ve said, I won’t post anything NDC on my page,” she remarked in local dialect Twi. “And I believe I’m not the only person he’s spoken to; I believe he’s spoken to a lot of people who are involved in this issue.”

According to Mzbel, the controversies associated with her brand appear to be affecting the NDC hence her decision to not post anything associated with the party on her social media platforms again.

“I’m worried,” she responded when asked if she thinks her banter with Tracey Boakye is making the NDC look bad. “That is why I’ve decided not to post anything NDC on my page because it will attract a lot of insults. So, the best I can do for my party is to stay out. If I’m to do something, I’ll execute it behind the scenes.”

The musician, in casual apparel with a headgear and sunglasses to match, continued: “There are some prominent people who admired both of us. They are disappointed that, even if there had to be this scuffle, the timing is wrong. It gets me worried.”

It would be recalled that, the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) suspended Tracey Boakye after she feuded with Mzbel. The actress who is also known to be a supporter of Mahama had in series of video clips launched scathing attacks on Mzbel over their relationship with a married man.

Speculations were rife ‘the man’ [translated in Twi as ‘papa no’] at the center of the controversy was a former president but Mzbel says her preference cannot be same as Tracey’s.

“Honestly, I have no idea the kind of man Tracey Boakye is talking about,” Mzbel said in an interview. “The men I dated are not her type and I wonder why she would say she has snatched my boyfriend from me.”

“My man likes slim ladies and she is not slim. If she claims she has taken over my boyfriend who provides everything for her why is she still not okay but is saying things that I have no idea about?” a puzzled Mzbel asked.

It’s Ridiculous to Compare me to the late Ebony Reigns – Iona Renine Fires

0

Over the years, the music industry in Ghana has been flooded by men leaving their female counterparts little or no space to shine.

However, the likes of Akosua Agyapong, Becca, Efyah, just to mention a few have done fairly well in this terrain, creating a path for other female musicians such as Adina, Sister Afia, Eno Barony, Eshun, Feli Nuna and a few of them to follow.

One of such Musicians treading this path is Iona, a young Ghanaian musician who is set to take the music scene by storm. Mercy Abena Sam is her name in real life but she has chosen Iona Rennie as her showbiz name.

She hails from Anomabo in the central region of Ghana and is a midwifery student at the University of Health and Allied Sciences at Ho in the Volta region. Iona is signed onto Funkz Entertainment whose CEO is Eugene Agyeman, a Ghanaian businessman based in the U.K.

In recent times, the youngster has been compared to the late Ebony Reigns as Ebony look alike which according to her is a wrong comparison. She stated in an interview on Linkup with Mona Gucci on Kantanka Television that she always hear the same comment many times but if she really look like Ebony, then Ghanaians are making a mistake because she is her senior sister, and Ghana’s culture states that one’s junior sister should be the one who resembles the elderly one and not the other way round because she is older than Ebony.

“I liked Ebony a lot because I felt there were a lot of things I saw in her and I see in me as well. For instance, the way she’s crazy, she’s always herself so we share the same vibe, and even after she died, I saw her in my dreams as if I had a personal relationship with her”, Iona explained.

“Our attention has been drawn to recent publications and circulation of videos on social media showing pistons of indecent and unprintable exchanges between Tracey Boakye and musician MzBel.

The contents was so bad and humiliation to our Ghanaian Cultures, Traditions, and Sensibilities. The Film Producers’ Association of Ghana (FIPAG) finds their actions very regrettable especially, that of Miss Tracey Boakye, who happens to be an actress and a Film Producer and therefore supposed to serve as a role model.

FIPAG wishes to render an unqualified apology to the general public and man involved for her behaviour as that display of character does represent what the film industry stands for or wishes to propagate.

We wish that Ghanaians will find a space in their hearts to forgive her.

In view of this, FIPAG has immediately suspended miss Tracey Boakye indefinitely. She is not supposed to take part in any of the activities during this period until the situation is reviewed.”

A video that went viral on social media which shows the rapper, known in real life as Justice Amoah, on a hospital bed battling for his life.

The rapper is alleged to have been poisoned by unknown people on Sunday. This would be the second time there has been an attempt on his life.

According to sources, Patapaa and his friends had gone out to have a good time when Patapaa started complaining of stomach aches and was rushed to the hospital.

Whiles many sympathized with the rapper, others wondered if it was one of the usual publicity curb celebrities pull for relevance, especially after a well-known man of God, Eagle Prophet, prophesied in 2019 that Patatpaa would be poisoned.

Their suspicion also comes on the back of the fact that, per the video circulation, even though there seems to be some drip on the musician’s hand, the bed does not look like the normal hospital bed.
