“My puppy resembles Strongman” – Medikal

The AMG Beyond Kontrol rapper, Medikal may incur the wrath of Strongman if he doesn’t mind his utterances.

He made a shocking statement after he appeared on Okay FM’s ‘Ekwanso Dwoodwoo’ program hosted by Abeiku Santana.

The popular rapper went to the studio with his puppy and the comment he passed will surely be in a bad taste for Strongman, his compatriot who ‘murdered’ him during a lyrical beef some time ago.

During the program, Medikal stated that, his puppy looks like Strongman.

He made this remark after the host asked him who the puppy nicknamed El Chappo resembles.

Without crumbling words, Medikal mentioned Strongman’s name, whether it was a joke or not, this wasn’t necessary.

He revealed that, the puppy was a gift from his godfather, Criss Waddle.

Proclamations by Mahama on the exclusion of NDC supporters from voters register unsubstantiated – EC

0

The Electoral Commission has debunked allegations made by the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, John Mahama that the institution has deliberately removed the names of some electorates.

This comes after Mr Mahama described the anomalies in the ongoing exhibition exercise as a purposeful act by the Commission to prevent the 2020 elections from being a free and fair election.

A statement issued by the EC on Wednesday, September 23 read:

“Our attention has been drawn to statements in the media by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer to the effect that the Electoral Commission is carrying out an agenda to remove the names of its supporters and sympathisers from the Voters Register. This allegation is false.”

“The Commission has, from the beginning of the compilation of the Voters Register, lived up to its motto: Fairness, Transparency and Accountability.”

“Indeed, at every point, we have provided factual, accurate and evidence-based information to our Stakeholders on voter statistics per region, district, gender, age among others. To date, every interested Ghanaian has information on the number of persons who registered in the just concluded Voter Registration Exercise based on the information we provided.”

The Electoral Commission, therefore, noted that it will be absurd for it to go contrary to its own slogan to disrupt the democratic process in the country.

“It is a paradox, therefore, to suggest that the same Commission now seeks to remove persons from the Voters Register. Had that been the agenda of the Commission, it would not have given detailed information to Stakeholders throughout the Registration process. We assure the General Public that these allegations are unfounded.”

EC: Voters register exhibition exercise extended

0

The Electoral Commission, on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, issued a press release concerning its decision to extend the ongoing exhibition of the voters’ register.

“As part of efforts to serve the interest of its Stakeholders and promote greater participation and inclusion, the Electoral Commission has extended the Voters Exhibition Exercise from Friday 25th September to Sunday 27th September 2020.” The press release stated.

This decision was arrived at so as to enable all prospective voters the opportunity to visit the various exhibition centres to verify their details, which the EC believes is instrumental in achieving a clean and credible voters register:

“The Commission is of the view that this extension will allow even more Stakeholders to check and verify their voter registration details. This is instrumental for the achievement of a clean and credible Voters Register.”

The Electoral Commission, therefore, urged the general public to utilise this opportunity to go and verify their details at the various centres or use the SMS platform by sending their ID numbers to the shortcode 1422.

0

Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr Eric Asare Bossman has announced that come December 7, 2020, the number of prospective voters expected to cast their votes at all polling stations has been reduced to 700.

This strategy to be employed by the EC during the elections, according to Dr Asare Bossman, is proof that the commission is not relenting in its efforts to ensure that all measures put in place work properly.

During his delivery, he made mention that in the 2016 elections, the number of voters at the various polling stations were 850 but due to the pandemic, polling stations with more than 700 prospective voters at the various centres will be divided into A and B.

This means the polling stations which had prospective voters registered beyond 700 will be divided into two. Thus those polling stations will have two centres where prospective voters will be able to go and exercise their franchise come December 7, 2020.

According to the Deputy Chair of the Electoral Commission, transfer of votes will be limited to security personnel to enable those who will be sent on national duties to ensure peace transfer their votes as well as students who registered in their various schools.
